Warstein, 07/07/2016 SIEPMANN-WERKE employees from Belecke once again came together for the fifth Sparkasse corporate run in the Soest district along the banks of the reservoir in Möhnesee-Körbecke. With 3000 runners and 187 companies involved, the event is one of the biggest in the region.
Eight employees from SIEPMANN-WERKE competed together in the team event. Sina Wolf, Sophie Götze, Valentina Torriero (responsible for training and study support throughout the company) and Carina Becker, Achim Scholz, Manuel Koßmann, Matthias Lux and Roberto Castiglione work in different departments yet all share this one passion.
"Recharging your batteries, having fun with colleagues, chatting in a relaxed environment and encouraging other runners" are all things that motivate Matthias Lux to take part in this particular sporting event.
The fifth Sparkasse corporate run in the Soest district was, after all, not all about finishing in the fastest time. Instead, the categories were as follows:
best motivated team, most creative outfit, fastest trainee and the Radleben Prize for team captains.
The athletes representing SIEPMANN & PERSTA managed to pick up two prizes. SIEPMANN-WERKE as a whole was awarded a health day addressing issues surrounding stress, nutrition, back health, exercise and the work/life balance by health insurance provider DAK, while Sophie Götze (in the second year of training to become an industrial clerk and currently working in the SIEPMANN Sales department) was the fastest trainee to complete the 7 km route. This is what she said about what was the first event of this kind she had ever entered: "The route and the atmosphere created by so many people taking part and the motivated group from our company really spurred me on. I was thrilled to find out that I was the fastest trainee when I crossed the finish line. I will definitely be taking part again next time!"
